Sheppo >> I am pretty sure that after they did a power run with the stock T25 it started to breathe oil heavily so they ditched it? They also had a TD05 full kit with manifold and wastegate on it at some point, which is the turbo kit i have, but i think they failed to state what model of TD05 they used, if u have that particular magazine i'd appreciate any info. Whether it was a -14b or -16G.

If you push the limits of the stock turbo, the problem is your risking your engine. My stock turbo bit the dust on stock boost, then blowing up the engine was my fault, after trying to limp home (woulda been easier if i didn't live at the top of a 2.5km hill).

>> Salps, its fine if u want to run a rich tune dude, just was wondering coz the way u wrote it sounded as if u struggled to get that much or something. I'll have forged pistons and a completely prepped bottom end by the time my car comes to tuning, so i'll be taking a slightly more aggresive approach to it, maybe some alternatives for weather conditions or something.

Anyone done any mods to their gearsticks by the way? Anyone around the 6ft tall mark find that by the time u get ur seat far enuff away from the steering wheel u can only reach the stick in 1st and 3rd with ur fingers? I'm gunna put a bend in mine when/if i build a short shifter for it.

Turbo is a trust td05-16 ;-)

Im 6'4-6'5 and i dont have any probs with the shifter, i may need a steering wheel spacer tho.

Also with the HPI CA car, it always had a T25g on it from what i read on in the mags, I didnt miss an article on the car! Sad but tru

well the engine only needing the IC pipes and FMIC finished off, filled up with coolant, and the engine mounts tightened up (thats a b1tch of a job!) and a thermo fan, then its off to XTC to get the loom and ECU installed and dyno'd (along with a diagnostic check).

So by December 21st i should be able to pick it up and drive home (1 and a qtr hours) with a big smile on my face :)

But yeah, just if anyone wants to know.... for the radiator top hose, if you are using CA20E radiator, a Holden Sunbird (4cyl 1.9L) top hose fits perfect! After 4 trips to autobarn i finally got the hose sorted out.

So its all happening.....slowely.....my wallet is getting thin :(

just another update...

I got my intercooler pipes professionally TIG welded today, along with the intercooler inlet/outlet pipes welded on better angles.

I also scored a boost guage off ebay, and a 500HP Walbro fuel pump.......so hopefully i shouldnt have any problems on the dyno fueling the engine...................hopefully!

All i need now is the exhaust and a few lil things here and there, like a silicon reducer from 2 inch to 2.75inch, some new nuts to go on the drive shaft bolts, and some lil bolts to bolt the engine fan to the new waterpump.

This time next week my car will be on a trailer ready for a trip to the workshop. Starting to get excited :):)
