Howdy,
In the last month i have been doing alot of phone work for my S12. Lotsa parts and stuff need to be organised for it. Anyway i called alot of suspension places and i was speakin to Pedder's Suspension, this is what they can offer:
VRD (variable response damperners) Shocks(rear) and Inserts(front) for our IRS S12's, cost $430. Now thats not bad for shocks that will hold 300lb springs with ease, and in his words, "they'll be perfect for stiff springs for a daily driven car, with the occasional circuit day thrown in." They also have a warrenty, and Pedder's are known for good sh1t!
They only charge $12ea to fit the front inserts into the struts provided you remove them from the car and take the spring off.
So thats what i am going to be doing, along with new bushings, and K-mac springs, i should have a nice handeling S12.
I hope this is helpful info,
Cheers

Struts for S12 with IRS
This thread was saved without dates. "Around Apr 2005" is estimated from neighbouring threads.
Are they offering a shortened rear shock? The main problem with rear shocks for the S12 is that once you lower the car, there just isn't much suspension travel left and they tend to bottom out easy. I'm going to be researching other vehicles to see if I can find a short shock that fits the upper and lower mounts for the S12.
the shocks for the rear are designed for lowered sports cars with harder springs. the owner sets up race cars for a living, and withover 30 years experience, i am going to listen to what he says. They will be perfect for lowered springs and stiffer spring rates, street driving and a little track work occasionally.
i am ordering my set, and seeing as i work 4 doors down from them, i might pop into them on saturday and speak to him a little more.
catch
Would you mind checking to see if those rear shocks keep the same dimensions as stock? They may be better damped for stiffer springs, but the amount I'm lowered gives me about 1 inch of travel with the stock dimension shocks. Anyway, let me know. I'm very curious.
I just want ADJUSTABLE struts for an S12. Do those even exist?

Yes, as mentioned in an earlier post (on the old board), you can get adjustable Koni strut inserts for the 280ZX. I believe that someone else said that Tokico makes a set of their adjustable Illuminia line of struts for the 280ZX as well that will fit. For the rear, you can use the Koni sport line of shocks that were made for the S12. Someone also mentioned that Maxima struts will fit, and they are a bit shorter than stock, but I haven't ever tried that to verify. I have put the 280ZX struts in and they fit fine.
