My rear brakes have stuck on, Is this a common problem with the gazelles (I have the IRS version)? before i take it to a mechanic i was just wondering if there was a way i could fix it myself to save a bit of cash? or will this require alot of new parts...

Same thing happened to me on the winter, not a big problem to fix, just remove the wheel and disassemble the brake system, check the handbrake wire that comes there if its broken (mine was and that caused the brake to jam) otherwise just check the brake system and add grease on the moving parts (watch out for not putting grease on the pads or the disc, you wouldnt want to be without brakes would you? =) )

Yah, its most likley the parking brake didn't release. My car did that a few days ago. I got it unstuck now, I have no reverse so I parked my car somewhat on the curb so it would push the car back when I put the car in nuetral to push it back. The last time I did this I used the parking brake as well. It must have rolled back on the brake a little bit and binned them up. It made it kinda tuff to push it back as when I released the brakes they didn't release all the way. I pulled up on the leaver a few times and drove it foward a foot or 2 it it released. Probably wouldn't be that simple but worth a try. Most likly though you will have to take the rear tires off and inspect the rear brakes and the parking cable, lube the pivot for the parking brake lever on the back of the caliper. Hopefully its not a seized caliper.

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN THE SECTION CALLED BRAKES, SUSPENSION, AND DIFFERENTIAL TECH!!!!!!

I'll move it but the next so very obiously misplaced post will get deleted. We have sections for a reason.

(moved from GENERAL to BRAKES, SUSPENSION, AND DIFFERENTIAL TECH)
