I only got the roll-cage specifications needed from FIA for the homologation of Silvia S12 back in 1984.
Material: A6061-T6
Exterior diameter: 44.5mm
Wall Thickness: 3.18mm
Elastic Limit: 24.6kg/mmm2
Tensile strength: 26.7kg/mm2

I am preparing my Silvia for rally.

I might be off in left field, but I do not think that Aluminum is allowed for Roll cages...

Hehehe... At least it would be lightweight!

I don't think I've ever seen an aluminum rollcage...

I don't think I've ever seen an aluminum rollcage...Porsche put an aluminum in a couple of their race cars back in the early 80's...it was only allowed until it was in an accident, and did next to nothing...go figure. Dream car garage included it in an episode last season on Speed...

As I said the homologation was issued back in 1984. Today aluminium is not allowed in rollcages for international and national compedition. It has been replaced by cold-drawn FE45 steel.

You must not be so old. Nissan Silvia BS110 240RS was equiped with aluminium rollcage as a Group B rally car.

Nope, I'm only 21, and I come from the world of circle track racing, where 2x3 sqaure tube frames and 1 3/4" .095 seamless rollcage tubing is the norm...
