I was woundering if anyone knew of a place where their main purpose is doing engine swaps? I know a place in Cali called www.sr20store.com where they only deal with engine swaps and moding nissans. The other one in NY called www.heavythrottle.com I tried calling heavythrottle to see if maybe they could do a project with my car but they said they never did it on a 200SX and its too much work for it to be done. If we have enough of people like calling them and saying hey I want a sr20DET in my 200, or maybe find a way to talking them into taking on a project like this.

This is a reality its not impossible, this car is from heavythrottle:

The guy who owned this car was selling it last year, he sold it for about 4K to some punk who took the engine out of the car and put in his 240S#!tX and scraped the car!! I was so pissed because I just my car and if I knew about these cars potential before hand I would have boughten that car and kept it like that and showed it off for all to see what is not impossible.

no, this car is still around.. one of the forum member's here owns it. SR20Store does NOT do motorswaps. Heavy throttle did not do this swap either, seeing as how they are in ny or somthing, not california.

The swap that did that car is ALTZ performance in Hunnington Beach, ca. Marco who OWNs SR20store did the swap when he worked at ALTZ a few years ago. ALTZ in hunninton beach will still do this swap. We would be doing swaps curently but we are busy developing parts and need another space. Look to us for swaps in about 4 months.

PS those pics are taken at SR20Store. Thats marco's R32 in the background.

Whoever said the Sr20det swap was impossible? there are members who have done it.......the RB swaps used to be thought impossible but not the sr20 its roughly the same size as our engines anyways and the rest is mounts and wiring hardly impossible

Far from difficult, did my SR20 swap in a relatively small ammount of time (car sat a while in between being worked on while i saved up cash and waited for parts but in work hours it took relatively few) with the whole project start to finish in less than a year in my shed. The workshop wouldn't have to be a nissan specialist or anything either, the wiring is simple and puttin the motor in is almost a bolt up proposition, as long as they are comptetant they could do at least as well as me in my shed.

Dude the engine was swapped in Cali. at ALT Z, not in NY by fullthrottle. I know this for sure because I own the car.

I love how concepts get horribly misconstrued and people take credit for othes work.... :(

Drifter SX are you Ceasar, (I thought he owned the car, I rang him and spoke to him for some info on the swap a yaer or 2 back for help with my sr swap), or did you buy the car from him??

there are a couple of places in Gardena and around that area out in Califorina that do the swap for $1000-1500 dollars thats the engine plus swap. L.A. Auto guide is a really good local magazine to find these places in.

ok guys, since a s12 swaped with a KA24 fits right there with the KA mounts
(except for drive shaft stuff), You guys know if a SR20 will fit on KA mounts in a S12 since S13-S14 SR20DET are said to be "bolt-on" .
And will the SR20 tranny fit there or will it need custom brackets ?
