I know the vg30 S12 has improved brakes. I have a CA20 car that I am swaping a VG30et into and I was Wondering what parts are required for this upgrade and if the stock 15 inch 4 bolt rim can be used with the larger brakes? I hear you can use 84 300zx 4 bolt stuff. I just figured I would ask here becasue you guys probably have experiance with this subject.

You would need the V6 s12 struts,(the Z31 spring and top spring hat is to wide for the top of s12 strut tower and will hit on full lock = dangerous e.g. strut jamming on full lock would not be fun!!) as the caliper mounting bracket has a wider spacing to suit the Z31 or V6 s12 caliper, (same caliper and rotor), (all except the 88-89 turbo Z31 which has a different hub config, i.e. takes a slip on type rotor like later Z32's).
If you wanted to stay 4 stud, you would need to get some early Z31 hubs, (non turbo I think), 84 to early 85 models only, they are 4 stud.
Also the Z31 rear rotors are 290mm (3cm bigger diameter overall, so gives better stopping power i.e. lever principle, longer lever you have the better pressure you get), you also need the rear calipers as the mount holes in them are 1.5cm or so lower down to match the bigger rotor. Here again for 4 stud you would need 84 - early 85 Z31 (non turbo only I think??). I bought these myself last weekend at a wreckers off a non turbo early Z31.

(all except the 88-89 turbo Z31 which has a different hub config, i.e. takes a slip on type rotor like later Z32's). Can we put the 88-99 hubs on? Change the wheel barings ect.? Or can we just put the rotors on our hubs?

I have to apologize to all. We didn`t get the ca18et engine cars here. I`ve been informed by UK guys that the ca18et cars in the UK had 274mm diameter rotors, (as opposed to only 250mm for ca20 cars). I presume this is the same for the US????(Please some US person confirm this by checking the diameter of the rotors on their ca18et s12)
If so these struts have the same rotor and caliper mounting ears/bracket combination as the V6 cars, (except of course rotor is drilled to a 4 stud pattern).
That means the nissan 4 spot calipers will bolt up to the ca18et struts.
