so ive been browsing through the old site a lot to see what everyone uses.
what i have gathered is:

fronts are 280ZX 80-83
rears are 300ZX 84-88

using suspension techniques springs for both front and rear what kind of drop should i expect or have i not searched enough? also do i just take the springs for those 2 vehicles and mate them with the stock replacement kyb shocks, or do i get the shocks for those same vehicles? how would i get around a 2" drop both front and rear? also is this a guaranteed bolt in like i have read?

next would be camber. ive done a lot of searching on this and its been very skeptical, or there is a lack of real advice for this. is there any new advice or solutions for this?

sway bars seem to be around and i noticed the post about beefy sway bars for sale. ill have to check into that. now what about a front sway bar? ive not searched around to much so feel free to flame me for that one.

ill be getting in touch with bartco about a front strut bar shortly, but would like a rear bar to go with it. ive came up with a big "NO." so there is no rear strut bar for the notchback?

anyways enough rambling from me, i just wanted to make sure i have this correct before i start ordering parts. thanks in advance guys

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I'm lookin for springs to put into my new S12 and have absoutly no idea what to look for.

First off, THANK YOU! Thank you for searching and at least putting forth some effort on your end. Much appreciated. I can't answer all your questions, but I can answer some. You are correct about the springs. They are direct bolt in. I'm not sure how much they drop the car, but I'm thinking probably around 1 - 1.5". If you want to drop much further than that, you'll be looking at stuff that doesn't just bolt on anymore.

Shocks, you can use the stock replacement shocks made for the S12. Or you can find beefier ones. For the rear, you can use any replacement shock made for the Z31 300ZX (84-89). Someone else can chime in about the front.

Without modifying the rear crossmember by slotting it and a small bit of welding, the camber in the rear is not adjustable at all. Prepare yourself for that.

Swaybars are available. Addco makes a 1-1/8" front swaybar. They also make a rear swaybar. Through your local Nissan dealer, you can also get a Suspension Techniques adjustable rear swaybar.

Anyway, I'm sure a few others will reply to this as well with additional info.

cool :) i was almost positive that the springs were a direct bolt in, but better safe than sorry. i also apologize for making the original post so long, its just there are so mannnnnnnny post on the old forum that ask the same thing and they all have mixed answers.

ive been checking into those addco sway bars, both front and rear, and im gonna talk to the parts manager (the guy who sold me the s12) about the adj. rear sway bar.

im gonna go with the ST springs front and rear with rear Tokico illumina shocks. i notice a few people using them and they sound the best bang for the buck. but have not decided on front shocks yet. hopefully 280zx shocks will work, because ill get equivalent shocks for the front too.

oh well hopefully some of the other guys will chime in and give me some input about the camber situation. i believe there is a recent post about 214 camber plates working on our cars??

anyway thanks again guys :)

ok so i ordered the front and rear springs and also ordered the koni illumina rear shocks. i hate to pester but i am avoiding the order of front shocks so that i know what i think will work, for sure will work. once i get a lil more $$$ im gonna order both front and rear sway bars from ST and then i think ill be ok till i get something or a little more info about camber. then ill get the strut bar and then ill start doing motor research.

anyways just hope to clear my concerns up about the front shocks before i order a set.
