OKay recently I have been hearing a loud bang in the rear of my car when I shift gears or just when I press the accelerator. It is really loud does anyone know why this is happening. I assume it might be the rear axel but I am not sure.

Could be a shot rear differential mount insulator or the rear control arm/subframe bushings. Although these things usually tend to make a clunk sound rather than a bang.

Spooleddate not saved · #3

Yep, gotta agree with ahoffman. Check those two things ASAP.

aroudn how much is to get taht fixed or replaced

Spooleddate not saved · #5

Not too much. If you want to go a more performance oriented route, check out Mr. Bob's bushings in the "Product Advertisement" forum. He's got new performance oriented bushings for the diff mount and soon, if not already, for the subframe.

the rear crossmember bushing runabout 30each from nissan since mr/bob doesnt have them made yet.. but the rear diff mount go with mr bobs unit

Yeah a new Nissan Diff mount costs in the 50 dollar range last I checked on nissanparts.cc and you can get Mr. Bobs for 20 dollars and it will last much longer and do a much better job than the stock part ever could.
