Could someone please tell me exacly what parts I would need to make a open diff R200 into an LSD.
I was thininking of using an R200 LSD from an S12.
The LSD is from an pre 86 car and the open diff is an 88. Are there any diffrences between the older and newer S12 diffs?

You will have to take the LSD unit from another car and then place it in your differential. If you don't want to disassemble anything, you can get the same style assembly in clutch based LSD form from a 87-89 300ZX Turbo (excluding the white special edition model). Cars that came with the R200 LSD include the 300ZX as listed earlier in clutch based LSD (and the RS-X/Gazelle in some countries). The Canadian 240SXs all has the Viscous LSD I believe, as did the American HICAS models. You should be able to recognize them by an orange dot somewhere on the carrier, but it might be hard to see or faded. All Z32s also came with the viscous LSD I believe. The viscous model uses a differential housing, so the guts will have to be swapped.

I know some people have swapped in the viscous, as one guy took it from the 88 Z31 special edition model. Also people have done the swap from the clutch pack one too. You should be able to find the info either with a search or in the already answered questions section concerning the actual swap and what is involved.

If you are in a country that got the FJ20 powered S12 then you can grad the differential assembly out of it and it should bolt right in. There shouldn't be any differences between the older and newer S12 differentials.

[edit]
After posting, I noticed you were in sweden, so the models that I have listed with LSDs might not have then in your area (as noted in the z31 turbo thread in general tech), so you might want to check by hand. Still, if you know it's an r200 LSD, it should swap in.

I have found an R200 LSD from an S12 RSX 84 modell. The thought is to take the internals and move them to my open diff.
Will everything be a straight swap?
Are the driveshafts the same on LSD and non LSD modells?

if its from a s12 then just swap the whole thing... alot less work.. and you wont have to worry about shimming the pumkin for proper alignment

Not to mention the ring gear bolts are 10mm on early R200 diffs and 12mm on the later ones.

Up here the KA24E had an open diff, but the KA24DE had the LSD...

....you could just weld your spider/worm gears...awesome drift, bad street!

I was under the impression that the entire rear-end assembly from a Z31 bolts right in, yes/no?(I'm an SE owner)

it's a myth that all late model S13's got LSDs standard in canada.

like the US, it ws an option, but many people got it along with HICAS, so it's common, but there are later model canadian S13s w/o vlsds

My mistake.

I have yet to see one that doesn't have the LSD here, and only my buddies I have seen with the useless Hicas

i think getting Phantom Grip thingy for the diff. is a pertty good idea. my bro got one for his 240sx s13. take him about a day. it's easy. it works.

i gonna get one for my s12 vg30. it's a different ratio from the s13, but still a R200.

I need to take a picture of my friend's broken spider gear pin to keep you people from considering the Phantom Slip ;) ...of course if you like the way it works in the 240sx and don't mind chucking the diff later when you can get an LSD, it's probably not all that bad as a stopgap measure. When I consider the 3 or 4 open R200s I own that I've paid about $nothing for, I guess wearing one out isn't a crime :D
