i was wondering, seens how the 1987 nissan 200sx has the same v6 engine as the 300zx, if the 300zx Twin Turbos would work with the engine in my Nissan 200? would it even fit?

The 87 200sx shared the vg30e with the z31 300zx's. The z32 300zx's got the vg30dett. And what do you mean by "work with my engine", do you mean the turbo's or the whole engine? I have seen a vg30dett shoehorned into a 200sx but it would be huge amounts of work and money. A little more info about what you want to know would be great.

take turbos from junk yard out of a 300zx TT, bolt them on my 3.0liter V6 in my nissan 200sx.

so you mean take the VG30DETT exhaust manifolds and bolt them on the VG30E? from pics i have seen the bolt patterns look pretty similar

i thought bout testing it and was going to get a set of manifolds of ebay.. but then in the last 10 minutes the auction went a lot higher than i was willing to pay for them

Turbo Charger!
sorry.. i forgot that ur 16 and dont know how all this stuff works yet..

the turbo charger doesnt just bolt up to the engine.. it bolts up to the exhaust manifold

so i guess you plan on making custom manifolds, in which case you could use any turbocharger you wanted (not just the VG30DETT ones),..

there is a pretty good site called www.howstuffworks.com

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm <--- thats some info on turbo's

check that out and do a little research before you post random stuff like that

it's pretty damn crammed in there already with 0 turbos on the VG isn't it?

I don't think any of the guys here have gone VG30ET yet, let alone VG30ETT

200rr heres a wicked tip for some extra cheap power, take your dads gas leaf blower, get some dryer vent hose, attach the vent hose to the leaf blower, now you can put the leaf blower where ever you want (passenger seat usually works best) Now you gotta do osme custom fab work here, cut a hole in your hood just above you intake box. Now remove your hole intake box set up, and run the dry hose directly to your MAF (the box shaped thing with a hole at one end)

Then viola home made turbo! good for atleast 3-4psi canstant boost, just imagine how cool you'd be, revving your motor along while doing the same with the leaf blower, teach those hondas a thing or two!

see this guy has some prior skill, hes actually mounted the leaf blower in the engine bay, and has the throttle cable in his cabin.....

nah.. its not even that bad in our engine bay.. you just have to clean some stuff up and there is tons of room

anyways,.. as soon as i get my truck up and running as my daily driver i'm going to start on the VG33ET(T) project for my SE

I've seen a vg30dett crammed into an s12 before (somewhere I can't remember). It looked like a really tight fit but it can be done with a lot of work.

it was here on the forum.. a guy in austrailia built it and posted it here on the site.. i think it was the old board tho..

anyways.. here's the pic
