found it
1145kg :D
now all i gotta do is loose 145kg of weight :dontknow:
any suggestions
I think passenger and rear seats weigh in at 30lbs each...its not much but it's a start.
tire/jack can come out(only if you have like a full roadside assistance thing tho), carpeting and sound deadening weighs a lot.
you could exercise too ahahah
the a/c system also weighs close to 100 lbs...

Actually, the rear seat weighs 10lbs at most. Probably less. There really isn't much to them.
You can take out the spare tire, which weighs at least 20lbs, probably more. The sound deadening under the carpet is a pain to remove, but I lost 40+lbs just removing that stuff. Stereo components are worth a few pounds as well.
cool, anything i can cut out/off ?

oi !! lol
im slim and trim just like a guy should be :p :boxing:
worked out that im running about 180bhp @ 17psi
with 157bhp/tonne power to weight ratio
if i can loose the 145 kg ill be exactly 1 tonne and have 180bhp/tonne :D
cool, anything i can cut out/off ?If you take out the passenger seat, rear seats, the door panels, the spare tire and jack, and the rear plastic finishing panels, it all weighs in at about 100lbs. Remove the sound deading, that's another 40+ pounds. That's 140lbs, or 63.5kg right there! You could cut some metal out of the inner door skins, but it's not going to save you much weight. Lexan windows would help, especially if you're S12 is a hatch. That back glass has to weigh 40 or more lbs alone. I think you're going to be hard pressed to remove 145kg, but it can be done. I certainly wouldn't want to use it as a daily driver at that point. The real trick is losing the weight at both ends. All of the easy to remove weight is at the rear. That upsets the balance of the car. It's much more difficult to lose the weight at the front.
is there a fixed lights version of the s12 anywhere... like with the 240sx ( sileighty )
the fixed lights are somewhat lighter than the flippies
that 62 kg get me upto 166bhp/tonne tho :D

Brighten up those parking lights and position them to the gound. Remove the flip lights but keep the lids... haha, I don't know.
You could just keep the lights in the up position and remove the motors fo another 50lbs of weight... Put in an order for a CF hood. There are 1 or 2 people here that are "working" on one. our problem is, er cant decide on one specific design...

Oh yeah, CF hood is good to... haha, CF Trunk!?

It would be nice, but only useful to less than half of us...
Yeah, thats true... forgot about the Hatchback for a second there... How about removing all seats and replace the driverseat with a much lighter bucketseat.
yeah, mine is a hatch...
still shopping for a lightweight seat ( but not silly expensive £80 max )
just mainly looking for lightening i can doo with a rachet set and angle grinder :D
The inner door panels and support bars weigh a LOT in these cars. I would guess we lost at least 30 lbs per side when we cut those out of the race car. BUT, I would never do this on a street car because if you get hit with no support bars there, it's all over. We had a NASCAR style rollcage in it, so I wasn't worried about it.
Don't go and cut a lot of inner structuring out of the car, as these unibodies rely on that stuff to keep the chassis solid...
Don't think UK cars have crash bars in the doors.
Reove carpet & headlining too.. not that heavy but the extra noiae will make you think its faster/lighter.
You could lose air con / power steering, fan replaced with electric, race battery, cut out rear wheel and replace with flat panel.
Lose the hatch glass for sure..

Man, how could they NOT have crash bars? Good god, I'd be scared to ride in one without them...
my 86 turbo without a/c rear seats, rear carpet, tire, jack came to weigh 2606lbs
:(
with you in it, or not ?
without me.. and about a 1/3 tank of gas... oh and this is with my full 3in exhaust and strut tower brace
