After searching previous posts, it was still a little uncertain to me, as to what's the best brake setup i should upgrade to.
Some were saying the old Skyline and Pintara's. Others were saying go for the S13 - S14 option. My 84 stocker, has front disks and rear drums. Needless to say, disks all round is what im hoping for. I would also like to keep the retro style rims for the time being as $$ are going toward a "sheppo" equivelant upgrade. (CA18det)
As the weather is getting warmer, and my foot get's heavier as im getting used to the car, the brakes are making a non pleasant smell and the stopping distance is extended on occasions.
I would like a simple bolt on option if possible as welding is not accessable. Would all round Gazelle disks work well enough with new pads? It might not as i like being able to stop on a dime and weekly now go for drives through the hills.
Any serious oppinions would be of great assistance... i can then refer back to the other threads for installation instructions. Thanks guys

S12 needs to stop

for rears is simple......bluebird trx series three runs the H190 solid axle, 29 splines just like gazelle, so all you do is get the breaks, rotors, calipers, backing plate, handbrake cable and bolt them on to the gazelle's diff.....the only thing i am not 100% on is the master cylinder........i think the standard one would be ok but you might just have to take out the residual pressure valve in the master cylinder, not to sure though..............fronts you canjust run s13 coil overs and use s13 brakes, or better yet bolt on s14,s15,300zx,r33 4 spot calipers.......i also know a guy who is looking at selling his setup........rx7 4 spot calipers, not sure rotor sized but the 32mm thick ones all custom brackets so it bolts straight on to gazelle's hub
It'll all work with the standard gazelle master cylinder. Depending on how hard you drive i'd say good pads and rotors on stock gazelle gear might be enough. I run S14 four spotters since i need larger brakes on the SR, the CA will pass engineers with stock brakes up front i thinks.
yeah the TRX rear is H190 with rear discs. just do this swap, add some good rotors and pads all round and it will stop on a dime! you are building your S12 for cruising, so no need to go all out on the brakes. Standard 4Wdiscs are pretty good as is..........when ya next down my way, i'll take ya for a drive and you can see for yaself.
