Hey, I found a company that makes crossdrilled\slotted rotors for our car for a lot cheeper than the other site.

Low Price drilled\slotted rotors

whoah..$85 for a pair..not bad
Nice find! U can also pick what colour and cross drill u want.:D
Hmm Shipping would kill it to Uk :(
bookmarked
ill be ordering once my tax returns are in.
thanks for the link
:???: But I wonder about the quality issue on these since they're cheap. Are they brembos or what?
Radracer has a point...Price=quality, has anyone bought a pair off these? Also what is better cross drilled or slotted, or both...??
P.S to bad the company didnt have pics of the roters, im really interested to see a gold drilled\slotted pair.
Im going to order them on wed and pair them with some carbon metalic hawk performance pads so ill keep everyone posted
Also what is better cross drilled or slotted, or both...??
For normal city driving, blank or cross drilled is better. If you're going to be going to a road race facility where you will seriously hammer them, or something of similar abuse, then slotted is going to be better. Rotors that are not cross drilled as part of the factory process are prone to cracking when heated to temps that you would see at the track. Honestly though, a good pad will give you more than a slotted or crossdrilled rotor ever could.

Then do you mean for city driving blank or slotted is better. Because you say the drilling may cause cracks in the brakes, and you don't want that for normal city driving. I just think you said it backwards at the beginning of your statement.
Nope, I said what I meant. You're not heating your brakes up in city driving. The only time cross drilled rotors crack is when they're heated to the extreme. You don't want slotted if all you're doing is city driving, because they eat pads a bit quicker, due to the sharper edges that the slots usually have. That's what I've been told. However, I run slotted in the front all the time, but haven't really noticed much additional wear.
Well, I was told (From multiple sources, one being a TV show on doing streetable upgrades yourself) that the holes tend to crack the rotors, so for a average street application slotted is the way to go, I evacuates the gas created when the pads rub against the rotors at high speeds, thus reducing or eliminating pad floating. This results in better stopping time, and more firm pedal feel.
Thats about what this expert on the show said. The show was "Tricked Out" on the DIY channel. They put a new set of front brakes on a Mitsubishi Eclipse... Talk about rice...
I've heard it both ways too, but never seen a cross drilled rotor crack from normal, everyday use. As for the out gassing, that's mostly a thing of the past. A good set of pads nowadays doesn't gas nearly as much as pads of 20 or even 10 years ago did. You wouldn't get gassing unless seriously hammering on your brakes. Let's face it, for people who don't do any track driving, cross drilled or slotted rotors are for looks.
Well, I wasn't trying to start an argument or anything, I was just saying what I've been told... then led to believe. Anywho, I would like to see how well these work out.
Go solid. cross drilled or slotted rotors that are the same dimensions as the stock ones will heat up faster due to less mass. That is why all "big brake" kits have huge rotors to make up for all the holes.
well actually the slotted ones DO nothing to decimate the heat away. Sorry but it has been proven. Slotted will not even be better at cooling than the OEM one. The slotted edge JUST gives it a more firmer initial bite on the braking so you will see performance in braking.
Crossdrilled actually disperse heat away. No i am sorry but in the past few years the cases of cd being cracked have been less and less. I mean the technology is moving ahead unless you get them from homemade crossdrilled your OEM brakes.
The thing that is fishy about this deal is that AT discount OEM brakes are about 35-50 bucks depending where you go. And OEM is base quality. Now you want crossdrilled and slotted for 40 each? I dunno sounds kinda off. Hopefully they are nice but i have had my share with ppl like that, you go to buy something and they are drilling a rotor up JUST for you
they have no pics, no other pics of cars...I dunno man, good luck though
I finally put my order in so i should be getting them around tuesday. What are some good brake pads that i can use because hawk performance or ebc dont make brakes for our cars?
That is why all "big brake" kits have huge rotors to make up for all the holes.
Who told you that? They have large rotors because it gives more swept area, which means more braking. Also, larger rotors don't heat up as much because of their larger surface area.
Euroboy, nobody said anything about slotted rotors keeping things cooler. Also, at PIR in the last 2 years, I've seen plenty of people having to go home because their cross drilled rotors cracked. Unfortunately, although the technology is there, it's cheaper not to use it, and there are a lot of cross drilled rotors for sale out there that have not been properly modified. Properly done cross drilled rotors will not be cheap, which is the main reason I chose slotted.
The rotor you choose should be determined by the kind of driving you do. If you take your car to a road race facility, I do not suggest using cross drilled rotors. I do suggest using slotted rotors for that activity. For normal street driving, cross drilled is fine.
just got off the phone with forum racing, they said since my order wasnt in stock i have to wait till friday when they get them and send them out.
Let us know how they work out. I'll definitely order a set if they work out for you okay.
