I have spent the last two hours compiling information scattered across the forum over the years. Credit given to erik_200sxdrift and Dan0myte for original content, and myself for researching in more detail the specific years and engine specs.
Impedence:
Saturated = High Impedence
Peak and Hold = Low Impedence
CA18ET and CA20E:
CA18ET are 270cc low impedance.
None of those top feed injectors will directly work on a CA18ET or CA20E. Nissan used a hose-barb type fuel injector which requires a short piece of fuel hose to connect the fuel injector to the fuel rail. In order to use a standard top feed injector from an RX7 or a Talon, you would need to fabricate a custom billet fuel rail with O-ring bosses and some sort of hold down bracket. People on the board have done it, but it's not the most simple thing to do.
You could just stay with the stock Nissan hose barb fuel rail and use some turbo 300ZX injectors at 280cc, or the JWT 300ZX injectors which are just late 70's Mercedes injectors rated at 450cc.
Also Datsun 280Z and ZX non-turbo w/ the L28 engine (2.8L I-6) uses 440cc yellow top injectors w/ the old-style top feed. I think those may be directly compatible with CA18ET and CA20E.
If anyone has more to add to this list, or corrections to the original table above, please post that information here in this thread.
Injector Comparison List
Additional info:
Jim Wolf Technology has upgraded injectors, including the hose-style ones for the CA single cam fuel rail.
http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/customer_....asp?PartID=275
They don't list them for the CA18ET, but they should fit, and they're 420cc. I am not certain if they are low or high impedance, but I'm sure JWT can answer that question if you contact them and ask.
They have other injector options for people with KA24DE and SR20DET, as well as their own high-flow injectors that work with their custom fuel rails.
Also, they have dropping resistors to switch from high-impedance injectors to low-impedance ones...

My injectors are from a talon and if you do what you previously stated then they will work as well...
you can do it either way but if you go with my method it works just fine and most importantly does not leak also is cheaper than going with a custom set-up check my build thread and if you have any question feel free to ask me
how sure are you on the 280z ijectors there all like 300 dollars and i cant afford to waste money budget build lmk somethin please and thankyou
Thanks for the comments guys, and please if you quote things edit out the line with the image, it makes the thread hard to read. Ok on with the questions...

I agree great list
How long have you been running with that? Didn't you somehow hook them up to the stock rail and switch the o-rings out?

Here's what the tops of the 280Z injectors look like w/ hoses on them:

You can be the judge... but the easiest way is to go to a junkyard and pull one, and compare them. I know that the connectors for the L28E engine are indeed the same electrical connectors as the CA18ET.
On a side note....
The VG30DETT, SR20DET and RB25DET all ahve interchangable injectors.
The RB20 and RB26 have interchangeable injectors also but when going from 26 to 20, you need a resistor box.
I've been running it like that for a few weeks without fail
here's the thread it's in
http://www.club-s12.org/forums/index.php?s...22834&st=20
it's my build thread but this works just fine and does not leak I've checked time and time again just to make sure and I'm running 15psi off the t25g and man the difference is amazing also if you have idle problems this relieves them as well it did for me anyway
if you ever need injectors cleaned and blue-printed, witchhunter does some good work, used them in the past and they pretty much give you the same service as RC Engineering but on a budget.
www.witchhunter.com
the 84 - 85 300ZX is top feed with low imp/high imp there also on a fuel rail so if one injector goes bad you have yo buy 3 injectors + a fuel rail same with the 86.
the 86 - 87 300ZX is side feed/top feed with low imp on both turbo and non turbo models.
the 88 - 89 300ZX is side feed with high imp on both turbo and non turbo models
what a bout the Rotory's secondary injectors size??

also at witch hunter best injector and fuel consumption calculator iv come across

You have the information wrong on the dsm 390cc injector size.. 390cc's came in the auto turbo cars, not n/a's.. A 390cc injector for a stock n/a 4cyl would be WAY too much..
I'll have to correct it and repost.
i dunno if this helps or even applies to this thread but i'll post it anyway.......
looks like 90-94 z32 injectors would work well for my ka-e w/ low boost.
Would VG30Dett injectors work on a Vg30e? I am having trouble distinguishing.
so ca18et is 270cc but is it high or low impedence? What about ca20 and vg30? where is this info?

http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/fuelinjectorguide.htm
cool page with info about various injectors and different injector types
I coulda swore they were low impedance that info is somewhere on this site I remember reading just cant remember where unless we lost it when we crashed few years back
at what fuel pressure are these flow rates? the standard 43.5psi or at Nissans 36psi?

That compatability list doesnt show 84-85 200SX Turbo CA18ET but it should. same injector. IDK where those part numbers are coming from. the number on CA18ET injectors is A46-00. Could have a bunch more zeros there like A46-0000000 same thing tho

Looks like 280zx NA injectors are the same as ca20 (makes sense) but 280zx Turbo injectors are NOT the same as ca18et
Post Merge: 06:35:37 PM / 06-Jul-12
the A46-00 means nothing useful cuz its on ca18det stock injectors too
