Question #1 how can i tell the r180 and r200 apart From just looking at theam???
my 86 turbo parts car should have a r200 but when i was under it today it looked like the owner before me was back there messing with stuff so i just want to make sure??

Qusetion #2 on the door jam it says my car was built in November 85
would that make the car a 85 or 86 ??? i dont understand the whole manufacture date thing..
second either way if it does still have the r200 in it being a late 85 or early 86 it will have the 10mm bolt?? or will it have the 12mm bolts???

Having one heck of a time looking for those anwsers with my crappy dial up with all the threads to read........

Thanks for your advice...

  Cheers

R180 and R200 are very different looking. R180 will have bolt on aluminum side bearing retainers, R200 does not.

R180:

R200 (with a different cover):

Edit:
Though R160 diffs also have bearing retainers like the R180, it's also quite a bit more narrow.

I believe the 10mm bolt were in use through 86. I wanna say the 12mm bolt came into play in 1987, but don't quote me on that.

As far as what year you have it's an 86.

Thanks guys that is what i needed to know..
i got down under and lucky me i still have the R200 in there

so

Question #3 I have a kazz 2 way from my old s13 (ment for open diff S13)
in order for me to use it in this rear can i simply source a 12mm ring from a S12 or z31
and use my curent R200 from my parts car..
or do i need to replace the whole thing and find a 12mm R200??

   Thanks

ALL turbo models have an R200 w/ 4.11. Reference the info pinned/stickied at the top of this very section

Is your spoiler foam rubber or fiberglass w/ center brake light? If the former, it's an '85. If it has the fiberglass spoiler w/ brake light, it's an '86.

Start with all the stickied threads at the top of this section. You'd be surprised how often the answers to lots of questions are contained in stickied threads in each section.

Thanks Arro
I already read all the stickied threads
Like i said in my first post
The owner before me did a lot of part swaping amd messing with stuff
So what the car should have and what the car does have might be difrent
That is why i asked how to tell by just looking at it..

but Thanks for the Tip
You are absultly right most info is in the stickied threads

Cheers

Yeah he would have needed to swap a LOT of additional things to completely change to the R180, so the odds were low

So which do you have, an '85 or '86?

i would make these out of uhmw or delrin as well with a metal insert to prolong the life of the bushing... and of course those of you hardcore racers i can make any bushing out of alum as well.. price wise they would be about $75 for the set... again let me know if you'd want these soon so i can produce stuff that the majority want first

+1 for me in delrin
