Affiliate Links... ARE DONE!
the club is no longer north american and international as well??
I noticed that when I first got on but figured it was due to the discussion that resulted last night and therefore was a 'quick' fix of sorts and would be sorted out. I am waiting on a file from France and working also with a guy there to help me creating one for the Ukraine/Russian site. I have yet to hear back from the Swedish site. We did have them up long ago, but I dont know what happened and as to why it was dropped from our links.
*edit: Xano, why did you delete your reply? It was a valid statement.
I removed all of those comments in that other thread, we don't need to get into that here.
The affiliate links are *normal* images, but somewhere there is a code changing the dimensions for display, and is stretching or squishing. It'll prolly be fixed with a day. They *should* look like this:

Sam, to answer your question, Club-S12 was *never* exclusively for North America, but was always the international forum that linked together the regional forums, as well as brought in people from regions where there wasn't a local community. I felt that the link image needed to reflect that, so it says "international" instead of "North America". I wasn't the one who created the original link images, it's a detail I hadn't gotten around to changing until now.
We might not stick with the one for our forum that I threw up there... might make one to look like the current regionals... or might redesign all of them. Not sure yet. The aim is to give them all a clean look, and have them properly labeled (that pertains to ours), and represent ALL of the regionals: Australia, the UK, France, Finland, and Russia. And maybe even our S12vfriends in Japan, who do indeed know of us.
the new one is ugly. make them all the same or leave the old one, seeing as we ARE primarily NA.

Toytoy did not send the image of France forum?
he will see what he deserves
I won't leave the old one. I don't ever want to present us as focused on North America. If that's the case because of majority membership, that's fine, but our official position remains that we're international.
Now, I agree, it's very rough around the edges, but I didn't want to wait anymore to change it. What I think would be cool is this: If anyone wants to create new ones, you're welcome to do so. I'd definitely be up for using someone's creative talents in this way. So if you have the skills and ideas, feel free to show us, and it's likely it'll get used.
ArroI removed all of those comments in that other thread, we don't need to get into that here.Yeah I noticed that. It was pretty hot and heavy in that thread last night hahaha.
if it has always been international why has it always said north america? Honestly, I can see north america being one of the biggest, if not the biggest populations of s12 owners...even if for the most part australia has more built s12s.
Originally it didn't say "North America", there were only links to the other affiliates. When Dan opted out of adminship, I wasn't around, and he gave it to Indy. Indy put those images in when he switched to the Invision software, and I haven't had a chance to sort out the misconception until now.
We have always, ALWAYS been an international forum from day one. Even before Club-S12 existed, the original email group had people from Canada, the US, Mexico, the Philipines, Australia, and one or two from the UK. When Club-S12 was created, the two largest member nations were actually Canada and then Australia, although the United States took second banana in the second year. And now probably is the top dog.
But it has always been and will always be an international community on Club-S12, not a "North American" one.
yeah. and if youre putting this fugly fucked up one up because someone else upset you thats kinda stupid, and makes the club look bad.
Except.. I'm not? lol just because a debate over one subject reminded me of another doesn't mean I was motivated to do it because I was "upset". And anyways, if you're talking about my debate with Colin, it had nothing to do with our status as an international forum.
Like I said, it's temporary. And I'm not in the habit of taking a step backwards (in this case, returning to the old icon), so just hold onto your panties, the icons will get cleaned up soon enough. And no, I don't think something so small as temp link image gives us a "bad rep"
My only thought to the N.American comment would be that it could be appropriate in the fact if we are all sister sites, then there shouldnt be one that may trump another by saying they are international or signifying they are alone. If we are all sister sites, then we can all just be on the same level as based on location. Then every country/geographical location would be broken up based place. Wouldnt detract from CS12. We come up immediately when being Googled and all the other sites recognize us as the main hub anyway. Yes, I know we are the first to start it all. that's groovy. I'm just saying the above as a plausible reason to the alternative. Overall, I dont care. I'm just glad we have the International Affiliate and that finally getting the other sister sites on board after so long of talking with them off and on.

I won't need em anyways... the new images will be... new And all the same style, to put that gripe to rest.

You kinda responded to your first statement with your second one lol (and I agree), but let me just say this... someone has to be there to cover those people with no local community. And that's us. By virtue of the fact that we were here first, that responsibility has always fallen on Club-S12, and probably will in the future. It's less about North America, and more about those people who are few and far between, around the world.
Are we seriously arguing about this?

And that's why we have no location in our url or club name, and its an organization.
All of which show universal appeal
*sigh* exactly, thank you.
100% agree with Andrew's response there.
And Draco, i deleted my comment, because I was GOING to rewrite it, but ran out of time and had to get going to work. It seems like arro and yourself have covered what I had said by now anyways. lol.
I have changed your banner and region as requested on s12oc arro
Cool, thanks We're going to update all of our buttons, and add one for France, Russia, and maybe even Japan. It's time we keep everyone in touch.

They got some activity on their forum as well. Funny to see how lot of them have adapted volvo or saab IC systems as they are surrounded by those cars.
I dont know why Sweden wasnt mentioned. I know I mentioned Sweden in my reply.
Because I forgot
ArroBecause I forgotCoolio Write something like: "Hi swede s12 owners! Now all your bases are belong to us!"
The Swedes should be contacting me shortly.
All of them?
Yup, the whole lot of them! lol
they want their clocks and chocolates back colin! I suggest you do as they say...or else they will bore us to death! jk jk jk!

Ummm...I think you are mistaking the Swedes for the Swiss. The Swiss are known for their chocolate and timepieces. The Swedes are known for their insanely hot blond women and scary fast rally drivers. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Clowny is correct. LOL

ok, i succeed.
PraizewoodYou forgot their Ikea other than that, it's true
I thought Ikea was Finnish. Though you would know better than me, Praize.
IKEA, Saab, Volvo, Sony Ericsson, Clas Ohlson, Koenigsegg, and a bunch of other stuff are all Swedish.
The only big Finnish company is Nokia, right?
Anyway, something like this would probably suffice:
I did this in about 2 minutes but if you want some more professional-looking designs I can help out.

Eric Prydz, Royksopp, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso as well for you who like electronic music
I kinda like the one we've got now personally.
And Axwell (the remaining 1/3rd of Swedish House Mafia). And Marcus Schossow. I guess Sweden must just be the best place on Earth. Then again Finland does have Paavo Siljamaki, one of my favorite EDM producers.
I LOVE Eric Prydz... One of my favorite club tracks of all time is the minimal house track Switch - A Bit Patchy (Eric Prydz Remix).
To keep this on topic, here is one that took me a bit longer, I think it fits better with the new theme with the black:
how about take the image that we are using currently, put it onto a white-ish background with a border, make the text black and the globle black. and let me see what that looks like.

Will try listening to both marcus schossow and paavo siljamaki.
As for the link logo. I think the last one you did looks really nice but maybe it's not personal enough? If one could mix the globe with some S for Silvia for example. A globe with an "S" yes that would look good I think.
Paavo is known as P.O.S. when he's working alone and he's one of the guys in Above & Beyond. Haha. Most of his stuff is in Anjunabeats of course.
Marcus Schossow is absolutely crazy; try listening to Marcus Schossow - Girls Suckcess or Sander van Doorn - Apple (Marcus Schossow Remix) and there is so much more.
If we are to make a logo, I think it should be somewhat conservative and simple. Not much to it text or image wise. I like Kroon's for it will blend into the background of the forum and is quite simple.

I'll work on making similar buttons to that for the other countries tomorrow to allow it to be more consistent.
We cleaned up the international one and the two listed affilliates, just haven't posted the other two yet.
Dat shiznit's handled, bitches
ArroDat shiznit's handled, bitchesRefreshed site and got a shock haha that's really nice I like how so many forums from all continents (well except africa and south america) are gathered. The other forums are supposed to do the same right?
Goodjob buddy! I really like the new links!
now thats more like it

One more is due to update I think, keep an eye at the top....
